In this work performed over a 30 day period, the artist’s bodily energy becomes a currency. Tracked second-by-second using wearable technology, expended energy adds to a monetary amount, while sleep and time erode it. A Tumblr blog tapped into the project’s wider context and a Twitter account provided an ongoing data feed. EnergyBank explores the notion of work in our ‘always on’ contemporary life as well as speculating on energy as a vital future value which is monitored and monetized, collected or gifted.
